Due to the time constraints of the project, the float plugs were 3D milled by MouldCam in Brisbane.
|

Then they were shipped to Griffin Motor Yachts to have the female moulds made.
|
|
|
|
Once the moulds arrrived at Boatspeed they were preped for laminating.
|

After the shells were postcured the structural fitout began. All the flat panels were pressed & CNC milled by ATL Composites in Queensland.

The bulkheads complete with local reinforcements and hatch surrounds were bonded into one side of the float.

Then the side of the float with the bulkheads bonded in was released, rolled over and positioned over it's partner, ready for centreline bonding.

With the centreline bonding complete & the floats out to the moulds, the chainplates were bonded in.
|
|
|
|
The false bow/crash boxes were added.
|
|
|
|
The holes were cut for the beams.
|
|
|
|
Rudder bearings & tubes installed. Here the solids are plywood and the finishing laminate is yet to be done.
|
|
|
|
The floats now in the oven/spray booth having their complex paint and signage applied. Warren is our master painter and achieved the impossible.

Ben & Warren worked around the clock on this spectaular paint job on the floats & main hull to have it finished in 7 days. Congratulations guys!
