| The
retractable propulsion system was developed in house by Boatspeed
Director, Peter Ullrich. Operated by simple hydraulics, the Retractable
Propeller Shaft offers all the benefits of conventional systems whilst
under power but once under sail folds away to reduce drag.
Boatspeed is continuing the development of this system to a fully coupled version for use in cruising vessels
